You can customize the email server settings in the Settings → Configuration → Email Server section to configure how system emails are sent to users.
Accessing Email Server Settings
- Go to Settings → Configurations in the sidebar.
- Click the Email Server tab.
- Enable the Use Custom SMTP Server option.
Configuring the Custom SMTP Server
To use a custom SMTP server for sending emails:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Sender Account | Enter the sender email address. |
Password | Enter the password for the sender account. |
SMTP Server Address | Input the SMTP server address (e.g., smtp.company.com). |
Port | Enter the SMTP port (e.g., 587 for TLS). |
StartTLS | Enable this option if your SMTP server supports StartTLS encryption. (Not available for SSL/TLS connection) |
Connection Type | Choose from: SSL/TLS or None. |
- Save the Configuration: Saving your SMTP settings will send a test email. If it’s not from your configured address, there may be an issue with your setup. If the problem persists, please contact the Timus support team.
Customization for Email Content
To further personalize email content:
- Go to Settings → Configuration → Customization.
- Enable Customization to allow editing of the company short name in outgoing emails.
- Edit the Organization Alias field to update the company short name that appears in email content.
Notes
- Common SMTP parameters (e.g., server addresses, ports) are widely available online.
- You can contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for specific SMTP details.
