Heimdal Integration

The Heimdal Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) integration allows Timus Manager to retrieve real-time security posture data from managed endpoints across your organization. This enables Device Posture Checks based on Heimdal’s threat intelligence and compliance signals—supporting a proactive Zero Trust security model.

What This Integration Enables

  • Collect endpoint telemetry from Heimdal (e.g., threat detections, risk scores, infection status)
  • Enforce Device Posture Checks using Heimdal-sourced attributes
  • Monitor device health and threat status in real time via the Timus platform
  • Strengthen Zero Trust enforcement with live endpoint intelligence

Once configured, Heimdal will be available as a Data Source in your Device Posture Check policies.

Prerequisites

Before starting, you’ll need to collect the following credentials from your Heimdal Management Console:

  • Customer ID

This uniquely identifies your Heimdal tenant.

    1. Sign in to the Heimdal Management Console
    2. Navigate to Guide → Your Heimdal API Key
    3. Copy the Current selected customer ID value
  • API Key

Used by Timus to authenticate API requests.

    1. In the same Guide → Your Heimdal API Key section
    2. Copy your Personal API Key value.
  • Management URL

The base API endpoint used to access Heimdal’s services. (e.g., https://rc-dashboard.heimdalsecurity.com/api/heimdalapi).

You can usually extract this from your Heimdal console’s address.

Configure the Integration in Timus Manager

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations
  2. Click ⚙️ Manage on the Heimdal card
  3. Enter the required fields:
    • Customer ID
    • API Key
    • Management URL
  4. Click Save

If the credentials are valid, Timus will establish a secure connection and begin retrieving posture data.

Verify the Integration

Once the setup is complete:

  • Navigate to Zero Trust Security → Device Posture Checks
  • Create or edit a posture policy
  • In the Data Source dropdown, select Heimdal
  • Choose from available attributes (e.g., Malware Detected, Threat Severity, Risk Score)

These attributes can be used to define conditional access rules based on endpoint health.

Disable the Integration

To turn off the Heimdal integration:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations
  2. Click the ⚙️ → Disable on the Heimdal card

Disabling the integration will:

  • Stop real-time posture data collection from Heimdal
  • Remove Heimdal as an option from the Data Source dropdown
  • Retain previously collected data for audits and reporting

🔐 Security & Data Handling

  • All data exchange occurs over HTTPS using Heimdal’s API
  • API credentials (Customer ID, API Key) are securely encrypted in Timus
  • Timus has read-only access and cannot modify any Heimdal configurations
  • No policy or device settings are altered on Heimdal’s side
  • You can revoke access at any time via the Heimdal Management Console
