Conditional Split Tunnel / Conditional Routing
Many organizations have users who regularly move between office and remote environments. Currently, static Split Tunnel policies apply uniformly to all assigned users, which can create routing conflicts when the same user works both on-premises and remotely.
Example:
- When connected to the office network, traffic to local resources is routed directly through the local network.
- When connected remotely, traffic to those same resources is routed through Timus/IPsec.
Benefits
- Simplifies management for users who move between the office and remote locations.
- Prevents routing conflicts between on-prem and remote users.
- Improves performance for office users by avoiding unnecessary VPN routing.
- Maintains secure access to on-prem resources for remote users.
- Reduces the need for separate policies, Trusted Networks, or other workarounds.
Common Use Cases
- Hybrid work environments.
- MSPs managing customers with both office and remote staff.
- Organizations using IPsec-connected resources.
- Users who regularly switch between office, home, and travel networks.
This feature would make it much easier to support modern hybrid deployments while providing the correct routing behavior automatically based on the user's location.
