The Sites screen is the central hub for managing gateways and IPsec connectors. It displays essential metrics for each site at a glance, including region, health, throughput, and the number of connected devices.
Sites Table
The Sites screen is your central hub for managing Cloud Gateways and IPsec Connectors. It displays essential metrics such as region, gateway health, throughput, and the number of connected devices.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The display name assigned to the gateway |
| Region | The cloud region where the Cloud Gateway is hosted |
| Type | Displays the site type |
| Health | Real-time connection quality to the Timus Cloud |
| Throughput | Real-time upload and download bandwidth |
| Networks | Total number of interfaces defined on the gateway |
| Devices | Number of actively connected endpoints |
| Status | Current operational state of the gateway |
You can manage each gateway through the ••• menu:
- Edit — Modify the gateway configuration
- Details — Opens the gateway's full configuration screen, where you can manage DNS settings, traffic filtering, maintenance schedules, and advanced network settings across dedicated tabs.
- Delete — Permanently removes the gateway from the system. Deleted gateways are referenced in logs and reports by their ID: Deleted Site (ID: {id}).
Gateway Status
Gateway status reflects both reachability and operational health, giving administrators a more accurate picture of each site's condition.
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Operational | The gateway is reachable and functioning as expected. Heartbeat communication is healthy and no critical issues have been detected. |
| Offline | The gateway cannot be reached. The system considers it inaccessible. |
| Degraded | The gateway is reachable but not operating at full health. Heartbeat interruptions, drops in connection quality, or unexpected behavior in certain services have been detected. Requires attention. |
| Maintenance | The gateway has been intentionally taken out of service, either during a manually initiated update or an automatic update cycle. Temporary connectivity interruptions are expected during this state. |
| Activating | Displayed when a gateway has been newly created and is in the process of coming online. |
Create a New Cloud Gateway
Click Create Site to start provisioning a new Cloud Gateway.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Type | Cloud Gateway |
| Title | Required. Enter a unique name to identify the gateway |
The Gateway Version is assigned automatically to ensure consistency across your deployment. (Gateway v14+)
Once saved, the gateway will appear in the Sites list, ready for further configuration.
Cloud Gateway Details
Click Details to open the configuration screen. Each section is organized into its own tab.
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Overview | View real-time metrics and gateway metadata |
| DNS | Manage global DNS servers, static records, and internal Split DNS |
|
Filtering Settings (Gateway v14+) |
Configure Web Filter, Application Filter, Antivirus, and Firewall settings |
|
Diagnostics (Gateway v14+) |
Troubleshoot with live tools like Ping, Traceroute, and DNS Lookup |
|
Logs (Gateway v14+) |
Browse DHCP and Connector logs |
| Maintenance | Schedule updates and define safe upgrade windows |
| Advanced Settings | Optimize network performance at the protocol level |
On gateways running earlier than v14, DNS, Maintenance, and Advanced Settings are accessible through the Edit screen.
Overview
The Overview tab provides real-time metadata for the selected gateway.
Connectivity Metrics
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Health | Stability and reachability to the Timus Cloud |
| Throughput | Real-time upload and download speeds |
| Latency | Round-trip time to cloud services |
| Jitter | Latency variation over time |
| Loss | Packet loss percentage |
Network Statistics
Time-series graphs displaying gateway performance over time. You can filter the view by:
- Metric — Health or Throughput
- Time Range — Last 4 Hours, Last 8 Hours, Last 12 Hours, Last 24 Hours, Last 48 Hours, or Custom Time
- Interface — Aggregated or WAN (primary)
Site Information
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Region | Hosting region of the gateway |
| Type | Cloud Gateway |
| Application Filter | Whether traffic identification is active |
| Web Filter | Whether category-based filtering is applied |
| Antivirus | Whether HTTP(S) download scanning is enabled |
| Gateway Version | Current software version |
| IP Address | The public IP address assigned to the gateway |
| Status | Operational status of the gateway |
Network Interfaces
Every Cloud Gateway comes with pre-provisioned interfaces:
- port0 — Primary WAN interface for external communication
- tun0 — OpenVPN tunnel interface
- wg0 — WireGuard tunnel interface
Static IP management is centralized under the DHCP tab for each interface, allowing you to reserve IPs directly within the subnet of the selected interface. (Gateway v14+)
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Identifier for the interface |
| Type | Physical or tunnel |
| Role | LAN, management, or other custom-defined use |
| IP / Network | IP address and subnet |
| Status | Interface state |
| Bound Interfaces | Related virtual or bonded interfaces |
| Addressing Mode | DHCP or Static assignment |
| Description | Optional purpose or note |
